It is that time of year the end of summer, back-to- school preparations, and various cultural and historical events! August offers up one last chance to chase the sun, skip town, and soak it all in. With families wrapping up summer vacation and the pace starting to slow, it is a great time to travel. Soak up the last of the summer sun at breezy beach destinations or cool off at higher altitudes.
Join us on Saturday, August 16th from 4:00pm-5:00pm, for the JSSM Legacy Series, our special surprise guest will share stories of their journey in the music industry.
Step back in time and tour the Museum. Listen and learn about the artists that performed on Historic Jefferson Street from Jimi Hendrix, Etta James, James Brown, Little Richard, Peggy Gaines, Jimmy Church, Frank Howard Jackie Shane, Ike and Tina Turner and more.
For those of you celebrating your birthday this month, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
Please come and tour the Museum as we continue to ensure that our history, our sound and our culture is visible and thriving.
Many Blessings,
Lorenzo Washington, JSSM Founder and Curator
